PLM lake treatment 5/8/25

PLM will be treating the lake today for weeds and algae. Optional treatments may occur later this summer depending on lake conditions.

As reported at the annual meeting, PLM has identified a new hybrid strain of milfoil in our lake that requires a different treatment method. The primary difference for lake residents is that there is a 30 day restriction on using water from the lake to supply your home sprinkler system, as pumping water from the lake after treatment may reduce the concentration of the herbicide in the lake and reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. There is also a one day swimming restriction.

Of course, you may still use city or well water to water your plants and lawn.

If you have additional questions about this treatment, please contact our PLM representative Jaime Desjardins at 616-891-1294.

Current Wake Zone

From May 16, 2021

The board has also decided unanimously that based on the lower water levels combined with the reality that a drain project wouldn’t be possible till a minimum of 2022 that it’s prudent to address using Dean Lake as the ALL SPORT lake that it is in a way that is respectful to those with shorelines that are most affected by the higher water levels.  Please see the attached Illustration for reference of direction/path for boating with a wake.
